He married Sarah Elizabeth Wildman (born November 1852, died in 1927 at Newkirk, Kay County,Oklahoma) on 23 November 1871 in Piatt County. They moved from Atwood,Illinois, in 1884 to Atchison, Lancaster Township, Atchison County,Kansas, where they were living in 1900. He died in 1910 at Pomona,Los Angeles County, California, his widow was living in 1920 in Harper County, Kansas, with her son-in-law Ethelbert E. Welch, she is believed to have died in 1927 in Newkirt, Kay Co., Oklahoma.
They had nine children:
