St. Paul Man Passes Away - Thomas Rutherford Dies After Year's Illness: Funeral Saturday - Thomas Rutherford died at his home in St. Paul this morning at 11 o'clock after suffering from illness for the past year. At the time of his death the deceased was 78 years old. Mr. Rutherford was born in Bartholomew County, February 6, 1858 the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Rutherford. The wife preceded him in death two years ago, but five sons survive, John of Clifty, Ind., William of Shelbyville, Robert of Greensburg, and Roy and Jesse of St. Paul. Other survivors are one brother, Ves of St. Paul and one sister, Mrs. Ilean Lane of this city. The deceased had lived in Shelby County for the past 50 years, he was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at the late home Saturday morning at 10 o'clock. Burial will be in the St. Paul cemetery in charge of Charles M. Ewing, funeral director.
